Calthorpe is a brand with a rich history. Since 1928, the company has manufactured saddle tank models with a unique single-cylinder overhead valve engine. The “Ivory” series, which quickly proved itself, developed into a true classic. The sporty sloper, created in 1930 by tilting the cylinder, quickly became the brand’s showpiece. Despite its success, Calthorpe went bankrupt in 1938, and with it a part of motorcycle history disappeared.
This 1936 Calthorpe Ivory Deluxe is complete for 95% and is waiting for you to get it back on the road. A few important components such as the carburetor and magneto have already been overhauled. The frame is in good condition and has a fresh coat of paint as well as the cylinder and cylinder head, the crankcases have also been polished. Furthermore, the motorcycle has an original Dutch license plate that is still active, which only increases the value and authenticity.
