Triumph CTT 1930

This motorcycle arrived with us as pictured above. meanwhile we have already had a lot of work to get this motorcycle back on the road.

The work that we did is:

Engine:

  • Disassembly of the engine.
  • New bearings installed.
  • Crankshaft set.
  • Piston fit perfectly and looked good as did the piston rings that were on it.
  • New valves, springs and valve caps fitted with skewers.
  • valve guides made and reamed on the valves.
  • Seats ground and polished.
  • Everything has been ultrasonically cleaned.
  • Oil pump disassembled and cleaned.

Gearbox:

  • Disassembly of the gearbox.
  • Everything has been ultrasonically cleaned.
  • New bearings installed.
  • Gears checked for damage or wear.
  • Gearbox checked for function.
  • Clutch disassembled and cleaned.
  • replaced clutch plates and replaced some steel plates that were worn out.
  • clutch bearing to replace.
  • Retaining plate made for the gearbox sprocket.

frame:

  • Checked that the frame is straight.
  • New set of steering head bearings fitted.
  • Saddle freshly made on the bike.
  • Footrests and the footrest flanges created.
  • Front fork disassembled.
  • Fork cleaned.
  • Front fork checked for play.
  • Fork reassembled with new grease.

electrical:

  • Rewind magnet.

Fuel supply:

  • Have the carburettor overhauled.
  • Fuel tank derusted and cleaned.

Oil supply:

Service:

  • New throttle cable made.
  • New air cable made.
  • New ignition cable made.
  • New brake cable made.
  • New clutch cable made.

Wheels / brakes:

  • Wheels checked for runout.
  • Tires fitted with inner tubes.
  • Brake drums cleaned and moving parts re-greased for smooth operation.
  • Brake lining checked for brake shoes and they are as good as new.
  • Spoke the front wheel.

Miscellaneous:

  • Prepare motorcycle inspection for the RDW.
  • Request model and date of certificate.
